Manchester City playmaker Bernardo Silva is attracting the interest of La Liga champions Atletico Madrid according to the latest reports coming out of the media in Spain. The specific report from Mundo Deportivo stated that Atletico Madrid are eyeing a move for the Portugal international. Apart from Atletico Madrid, Barcelona are also keen to sign the Portugal national team player.
Portugal international Silva could be the sacrificial lamb after Manchester City secured a British record deal for England international Jack Grealish. It was revealed that Bernardo Silva could leave the Citizens this summer following the £100m deal to sign Grealish from Aston Villa.
Manchester City paid the £100m release clause in the final contract of Grealish at Villa. His transfer was able to eclipse the previous record set by Paul Pogba. The Frenchman returned to Old Trafford for a fee believed to be around £89m. Pogba had spent four years in Turin with Juventus before returning to sign for the Red Devils in a mega deal.
Silva has proven himself to be a reliable performer for Guardiola at Manchester City in recent seasons. He was a regular member of the starting XI at Manchester City last season.
Portugal international scored five goals plus nine assists in 45 games in all competitions for the Citizens last season.
Apart from Grealish, Manchester City are also keen to sign England striker Harry Kane this summer. The Premier League heavyweights might have to sell at least one of their players to fund a move for Kane.
