Dispelling rumours that the star attacker Cristiano Ronaldo might miss the friendly match against Ecuador, the Portugal national team manager Paulo Bento confirmed that the Real Madrid man is fit and ready. However, he has said that he is in the dark when it comes to the playing time that the 27-year-old will receive in the match. Ronaldo is regarded as one of the best players in the world, and he has almost single-handedly carried the team in several matches and tournaments. There are rumours that the manager Paulo Bento will be willing to rest the player for this friendly match.
Bento, though, has confirmed that Ronaldo will be part of the squad that will take on Ecuador. However, he could not confirm whether he will start the game or come on as a substitute. Bento has praised Ronaldo by saying that he is amazing individual because he is fit and ready despite playing several matches over the course of a season. Due to his importance with the club team, Ronaldo is not often rested and he is involved in all the matches. The 27-year-old recently admitted that he has been suffering from a little bout of muscle soreness, but he is expecting to play a part in the match.
“Ronaldo will play; we’ll see for how long. We have the possibility of making six changes. He is fit and physically prepared, despite being a player who always competes a lot during the course of the year. He’s often doubtful before a game and then we see a normal player on the pitch. I watched the Granada game and he played as normal, like he always does. We know how this works,” said Bento ahead of the match. Ronaldo has been picked for 25 matches by Bento since taking over in 2010.
